My head is a shed!!! My little boy is 5 months old and weighs a whopping 20lb's, He has 4 bottles a day each being 9oz. He cries every time after his bottle wanting more so i have started to wean him after his middle day time feed. He wakes about 6.30 just awake and then wants a bottle about 10am, 4pm, 10pm and then about 4am. I was thinking well hoping if i offered him a bottle about 7am, lunch time and then tea time each with a little food (weaing) after each and then a final bedtime bottle. He would then get the same amount of bottles each day as now but cut out the night feed and this would help me with the weaning too because sometime he does not get his tea time bottle till late and i dont want to offer him any food incase it upsets his tummy during his sleep...??? What are your thoughts? Feelings?

Hiya,
I just wanted to let you know what Finns feeding routine was, just as a guide really but obviously all babies are different, just thought it might be useful for you to see what others have, Finn is 9 months now and only weighs about 18-19lbs (had him weighed at 8 months and was 17lb) Bottle on waking bout 7.30 Cereal at 8.30am Bottle at 11ish am Lunch at 1pm Bottle at 3ish pm Tea at 5.30pm Bottle at bedtime, 7pm. We always offer him 6oz milk but rarely drinks it all, on average about 5oz. He also has a healthy snack such as fruit, rice cake, occasional biscuit, babybelle cheese etc with his mid morning or mid afternoon bottle. Hope this was useful x |
