Default Declutter before the Christmas clutter arrives

I have decided to be very ruthless with all my stuff (OH keeps shouting "leave my stuff alone" ha ha ha ) I have cleared out my wardrobe and Ava's room and my cd and dvd collection. Does anyone wanna join me in getting our houses completely decluttered by Christmas?

I had mugs and glasses that I never used so they're gone, as have old towels and bedding I don't use anymore. All the cupboards are starting to look so organised

Maybe I need to get a life but I am loving this

I'm getting really into it. I think I'll just do it on Friday nights until xmas. I'm just tackling random things...I have just cleared out my purse (of receipts and old cards I don't use) and I have done a bookcase.

I've not washed the dishes or put the laundry away and I now have a massive pile of cr@p to dispose of I think the house is gonna get worse before it gets better. Just threw out all but one of OH's deodorants. Hope he doesn't notice

I've been doing this for the last few weeks but I needed to declutter before baby arrives so there's some room for it (baby that is!!)

My hubby sounds the same as yours; he was really pleased with himself the other week when he went through one of the wardrobes and sorted out quite a few shirts; was less pleased when I pointed out there was still another wardrobe full of unworn shirts that belong to him!

I've now left 2 boxes of his 'clutter' by his side of the bed - been there for at least 2 months. I had my mum and dad down helping last weekend and we cleared the shed and took a load of stuff to the tip. I don't think he's been in there since but I don't think he'll miss anything - I hope not anyway!!

I'm just sick to death of sorting my stuff out only to have his continually cluttering up the house!

I'm slowly but surely doing my house. Tis a mammoth task but sadly needs doing.

Keep chucking OH's stuff out while he's at work.

If I don't declutter baby number 2 will be living in the garden shed!

I have guests staying in the 'spare' room next weekend, which is currently stacked floor to ceiling with our stuff and the room needs a door fitting.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllppp!

Doing a little everyday is the best way and once you have got that pile of clutter identified.... get it out of the house. If I don't do this really quickly then I just end up with a pile of stuff that looks messy so I end up putting it away again The British Heart Foundation Charity shops round here are great... if I call and say I have a lot of stuff for them they come to the house and pick it up. It might be worth trying this in your area.

I've got a friend coming round tonight to watch the x factor with me and drink wine so I'm going to shove all my newly identified clutter into ikea bags... ready to leave the house on Monday
