Question Pre-school nightmare!

I took Georgia to pre-school on Tuesday and OMG it was awful!

She cried and cried, started shaking, hyperventalating and then making herself sick!!!!

What am I suppose to do???

I think I am going to give up till after christmas but what if she does it again?

arhhh big hugsxxxx

tbh if it were me id keep taking her, maybe not leaving her the full time but build up slowly... los dont like change and they assert themselves how they can, but sometimes its for their own good....

maybe im a cruel mummy

i know several people who have said los find nursery etc easier if they are younger... xxxxxxxxx

Don't know if this helps but they had some twins on 'Supernanny' who kept puking because the mum didn't pick them up and SN said ignore it- it is a way of getting you to do what they want.

I know each child is different, so this may not be useful to you; but she did say that it is a learned behaviour, so if they realise it works, they will continue to do it.....!!!

Good luck.

Gosh, this is a hard one, i'd be pretty distressed if my LO did this but i think i agree with rachelmae in that i would continue to perservere with it and build it up slowly. do you stay with her at the pre-school?

Hi Cole I would say stick at it. My lo is in a creche and he loves it but when he first went he would cry so much he would make himself sick. Gradually he started to get better (we had a week of settling in and gradually built up the time he was there) and the girls in his room were brilliant, they would distract him etc as I would leave. I was very distressed leaving him like that but would call in after 20 mins or so and would see him happily playing. He now waits at the door every morning saying "come on mammy school"!!! Remember they are very adaptable at that age and she will settle in eventually.

I would keep taking her but not leave her. It must have been really upsetting for you both ((hugs))

your poor thing! reminds me of noa! But she is fine now. Even told me yesterday for the first time mama I want to go to Maon (nursery in hebrew). My eldest was about 30x worse than Noa but no amount of waiting would have schanged it. with her it is a personality thing. She is still uptight in new situations.

I also have to say that when I accepted the whole nursery thing more wholeheartedly, that's when Noa started improving. Our kids read our subconscious vibes.

LOTSA HUGS!
