I am interested in this thread also as Oliver has a fever today & I am taking him to the docs this afternoon. I had read something about 2 months ago on a plane about one of the Braun Thermoscans being the most accurate. I think it is one of those in ear ones that takes a few secs and then beeps. Right now I am using a stick on one made by Vicks that you stick under their arm and you can keep it on for up to 48 hours (it survives bath times) makes checking their temp in the night easier. They say on the pack that they are within 0.1-0.2 accurate which is good enough for me.

Hi we have a Braun Thermoscan and they are really good. Got nothing to compare it to but our docs use the exactv same one. Don't know where you get it from as my dad sent it from USA but obviously you can get them from here too.
They are really easy to use, have replaceable disposable ear caps and you can save previous temperatures so you can see what the temp was the last time you used it (saves trying to remember). They must be quite comfortable as lo has never fussed when using it and I've even managed to use it while she's sleeping and it hasn't disturbed her.
Not sure of price tho! xxx

I've tried a few and the best one I have is a Beechams one I got from Llyods chemist for £5.99 from about £30. I took it with me when Georgia went into hospital and it was exactly the same readings as theirs. Its one you put on the fore head and wait a few seconds and it gives you a reading. It doesnt bother the kids either when I do it hth xx

We have the braun thermoscan thermometer, was just under £40 but on offer from mothercare at moment for £30. Expensive but definately worth the money imo.

Lauren is great with it and takes her own temperature and shows it to you

We also have the braun thermoscan thermometer, For a while Aub's hated it anywhere near her, which didn't help when she was poorly, but then i let her play with it with her dolls and she loves it now and takes her own temp.
Well worth the money, we have had loads of crap ones over the years
