Default blood and mucus in stools...

I know this sounds pretty nasty but wondered if anyone's LOs have had this. Holly had two nappies like this today...there isn't much blood, just noticed a bit in the mucus. She is completely fine in herself and not being sick etc, she's also eating her meals. Probably something she's eaten as her bottom isn't sore so I don't think its a fissure. Going to give it another 24 hours before I think about the doc's...just wondered if anyone else had experienced this.

Thanks

Kathryn

This is gonna sound gross, but keep the contents of one nappy. Take it to the surgery and tell them you have a stool sample needing testing. It should put your mind at rest. They should give you something appropriate to transfer it into (jeee that'll be fun )

Is it really inappropriate that I'm laughing at Ladybugs suggestion. Was just thinking of receptionists face when you wander up to the counter and drop a nappy with a stinking pile of poo in onto her desk

Am sure it is nothing to worry about, have read about little ones passing blood a few times and it being normal (although I would worry too). If it were Isabella I'd prob give it three days and if it's still happening or there is a lot of blood go to doctors.

In meantime make sure she's eating lots of stuff that keeps her loose so she's not having to strain in case that's what's causing it xx

I think that the presence of mucus means there may be a bit of an infection....if she seems fine, no temp etc then she's probably managing to fight it off quite well but I'd go to the doc to be sure xx
