Default Contact lens

I have been for my eyes tested todya and i am debating monthly lens at £6 per month. Just wondering if anyone has these and how they find them?

How much should i expect to spend on solution? or any other costs?

Also how many hours can u wear them a day?

I wear monthly contact lenses, they cost me £10 a month and that includes the solution, didn't they give you the option to have the solution included?

I wear mine for about 10-12 hours a day which my optician always tells me off about as its too long

Have you got some glasses as well so you can change between the two?

Hello

Daily disposables are good cause that means no cleaning and you can take them out and bin them anywhere - very convenient. They aren't as moist as the monthlies or the longer-lasting ones though.

It's a good ides to get eye drops for lens wearers as it just helps your eyes cope.

Definitely don't wear them too long - a friend of mine recently wore hers for 12 hours straight and when she took the lens out she tore off the top layer of 'skin' on her eye - it's red, raw and painful... It's not happened to anyone else I know though, so don't be put off. Just make sure you take them out for spells. I generally would wear mine from around 07:30 to 17:00 which is too long, and can really irritate my eyes. I suppose if they were monthlies, I could take them out at lunchtime and give them a rinse and my eyes a rest... but what a pain in a short lunch break. Also, putting them in with makeup on can cause problems.

I think you can buy solution in bulk online, much cheaper. Also, do you know anyone who works in an opticians? They get freebies galore...

Ok thats helpful.
ATM i have glasses but dont wear em. The optician said that most people who have my prescription wear them or lens all the time. I said i may think about it. Anyways they gave me a pair of dailies to wear to try and i found it fab having blur free vision and thought about having em all the time. I wore them from 11 til 6 ish and my eyes felt a bit dry, which makes sense to what LB saying as they are not as moist as the monthlies would be.

The opt did tell me to put make up on after so i dont smudge it as he did when he put em in for me.

I think drops would be a good idea. Im just trying to weigh up the overall costs. im sure tho he said a couple of quid for solution but hubby may wangle me some from eye clinic. Then eye drops too from wherever u buy em.

I would recommend a online store which provides contacts for less price.
