We have this one and we're really happy with it. Tristan seems to find it very comfortable, harness easy to fasten and adjust, and according to my DH and Fil it's very easy to remove and put back in. We swap if from one car to another with ease. xxx

After lugging LO round all the shops and sitting him on seats on shelves and looking online we went for the Britax Eclipse Si. I've had to order it though as wanted the Prague cover so will need to wait on it arriving. Lewis is nearly 11 months and was 21lbs two months ago. His head is flush with the rear facing one but he's getting too heavy to get in and out of it. Just need to wait on new one arriving in shop and then they'll fit....

We have already had to buy Evie Maxi cosi tobi car seat even though she is not quite 7 months as she is over 23lbs and extremely long and we just couldn't do the old seat up anymore. Seat is great though.

Even though I ordered mine off Halfords website I took it to the local branch today and the car seat specialist checked the fit and made sure it was solid.

He had only fitted the Tobi once before so rang the Maxi-Cosi rep while he was doing it to check it with them. He told me that the Tobi is basically the latest version of the Priori XP but is supposed to be easier to fit and a slightly tighter fit due to the belt tensioners.

My only concern is what the car seat will look like when the seat comes out as it is really pushing down on the upholstery - has anyone use one of those protector mats and are they any good?

Abbie, when I took mine out of the car recently folowing the accident it had not made a mark on the upholstery, was quite impressed.

The good thing about the maxi cosi tobi is that it has the same tenioner system as in the adult car seats. Upon impact it will lock and stop the baby going forward. I believe according to what I was told at the time of purchasing it from John Lewis is that it is the only car seat to have this facilirty.

Having been involved in a rear shunt recently it worked and Lauren was only left with a minor strap mark.

Cannot recommend the tobi highly enough for safety and comfort.

After the shop saying two weeks to order it only took two days. It's in the shop but will have to wait till Thu to pick up when I'm not working. I got all excited but then turned to look at the wee Silver Cross Ventura and got sad. I can't believe how quickly my wee man has grown. What a silly mummy!

i also have the Maxi Cosi Tobi & its been fantastic, Freddie is in the car alot (due to our commuting) & as been always very comfortable & safe (even though its not a isofix). its really easy to put in & out & the entire cover comes off for washing etc. My only issue at the moment is Freddie has started to be able to force his arms out from under the shoulder straps (coz they are sprung loaded). So i have to pull the tensioner really tight to stop this. No problems with the upholstery on the back seat, but some creasing on the seat belt - but no wearing. i would recommend this one if you can afford it.xx
