I must get lauren weighed again. She was just over 21lb about 4 weeks ago and trousers are just a nightmare, not sure what length they think babies legs are but on some 9-12 months I could double her over and still have room in the bottom !

I can not agree more with the lengh of trousers, Logan either looks like we have put him in half mast pants one day and a 2 year olds the next...Lol.. Logan was born at 36 weeks and had to spend 4 days in scbu, i try not to worry about the rate he is growing or developing he seems to be doing just fine as many people have said babys differ from one to the next. If i ever have a worry then will see the HV but he is doing great, and can i just say i love and miss him loads (am at work at the moment cant wait to get home to him.)

Cole- laughed out loud at your comment about clothes size; just telling MIL proudly that she had moved into 3-6 months clothes! Little steps but we are getting there eh?!!!!

Yes, she is fine thanks. She has just been told to stop taking all of her medicines- yah, no more syringes!!!

My BIL, who is just out of his teens, proudly bought her a suit for Christmas last year, for an 11lb baby. (She still weighed 5lb) He was so pleased with himself that I didn't have the heart to tell him. Well, it was mid-summer when it fitted her, so we closed the curtains, put the suit on and took some photo's. We then waited for the weather to change and showed him the photo's of her in her suit. He was so chuffed that I knew we had done the right thing!!!!!! I wonder what he will buy this year?!!!

my baby boy was born at 33 wks weighing 4pound 7. Like yourself i was confused whether to go by his birth date or what he was. He is now 7 months and doing really well though he is only into 3-6 mths clothes this week. I usually look on him as a 7 month but understand he may be a bit behind in some things. I worked in a nursery with babies all day but when it comes to a prem you just dont know what to do. i wouldnt worry what other people say. You know what your baby has come through. Just go by your own baby they are very clever little things!

Hi, my baby girl Imogen was born at 33 wks weighing 4lb 11oz and spent 2 wks in scbu due to feeding difficulties. She's 6 months now (actual age) and i have been weaning her for the last 2-3 wks. Totally agree with you about the lack of info thats out there for parents of preemies when it comes to things like weaning etc. She is spot on for her clothes, moving into 6-9 mths (more to accommodate her chubby thighs though hee hee) as she can still fit into some tops aged 0-3 mths. She isn't rolling over yet but she's nearly there but i'm not worried about her development at all as i know she'll be a little behind. She's a happy, healthy, giggly baby and thats all that matters!

Totaaly agree with you ims-mum; my LO is happy and healthy; just in minature. When people say, 'oh isn't she small,' I say, 'she prefers the term petite actually!'
