Weening help - before I have a breakdown

I really think that my baby is ready for weening he s 4 months old and I have tried a spoonful or two of baby rice when I told my health visitor she went mad t me and said to stop and wait till 6 months!!!! Help advice needed

If your baby is showing signs of being ready for food then give try giving your baby food. Health visitors seem to vary greatly in the advice they give, and the new guidelines apparantly say that it is okay to start weaning at 4 months rather than 6 months. Your the Mum so you should know your LO best.

they have to give you the current official guidelines - which is 6 months, but i weaned at 16 weeks as my boy was so hungry all the time i couldn't cope with all the feeds, i was totally knackered & like you on the brink of a break down. (in fact my HV suggested it coz she could see i was a breaking point!) its your baby & you make the decision. if he's ready to wean then go for it, just take it slow & keep the milk feeds going (as this is the main source of food til age 1). enjoy!
