Olivia has got another eye infection
She has had atleast one a month since birth and always has sticky eyes. Her right eye has got a blocked tear duct still and both eyes her lower eye lashes turn inwards onto her eyes. Dr has refered her to the eye hospital for an urgent appointment. Has anyone else experienced this and know what they may do?Thanks xxx |

Aww bless her! I had a small op on my tear ducts when I was a baby, very harmless.
When Ruby had infection though dr said they won't do anything like I had done until 2 or 3 years but it may be a different thing Hon, Hope your appointment goes well x Last edited by sarahdavid : 29-07-11 at 22:23. |

hey lovely god this takes me back... Jess had gooey eyes for ages, one eye cleared at 6 months and the other she was about 14/15 months. I was constantly cleaning her eyes, she had lots of drops but they would do nothing, the dr and HV just told me to massage around the top of the nose to clear the duct, they don't like to operate these days and they said it would clear on its own. When Jess has a bunged up nose or cold now her eyes go gooey. It never bothered her one bit, we were referred to the eye hospital but they said it would clear up on its own, hope that helps.

Thanks xxx
I saw consultant yesterday who said its definatly a blocked tear duct and hopes it will clear itself but if it doesn't she will be operated on at about 12-14 months. As for the eye lashes turning in he wasn't sure and has refered us to Moorfields eye hospital in London. xxx |
