Default Anyone do Lifting for a dry night?

Freddie is still wet at night, he has little phases of being dry but only a few nights in a row, then it back to being wet again. He wears PJ Pants & his happy in them, i asked hom to try without them but he is very reluctant & is worried he will wet the bed sheets etc. i have all the protective gear on the bed so explain it wouldn't matter at all, but he is still worried. So i thought id try "lifting" him when we come to bed - he is happy to do this & it was sucessful the first night, but not last night. I'm just wondering whether it really will make any difference to getting him dry at night, or whether it'll just happen when his body is ready. What are you thoughts, tips etc?

Hi, my daughter has only ever had 2 'accidents', I put that down mainly to the fact that we lifted her every night as we went to bed for almost a year. She was in pull-ups for about 6 months then we started lifting her and stopped the pull-ups after about 2 weeks as we found they were dry every morning. She soon got used to the last visit to the loo each night, and most nights wouldn't even open her eyes!

As she got older we used to walk her to the toilet until she wasn't really going, so decided to stop. Don't feel that your LO has to master it in a week, it can often take much longer for them to be dry in the night than during the day. xx

Jessimaes the same, when she has an accident at night she floods the bed. Havent got an upstairs toilet so lifting her is not an option, although i had read it doesnt actually help because they need to recognise signs of wanting a wee and waking up??

Jessimae is wearing pull ups as she got so distressed at wetting the bed, I figure she will do it when shes ready.

Livvy on the other hand is dry but insists most nights on a pull up as Jessimaes wearing one... cant blooming win!!

I lifted Isabella the first few nights but the third night she stirred and I whispered I was just taking her for a wee. Little toad piddled all over me the moment I said 'wee' We hadn't got to the bathroom so that was a delight.

After that I decided she could sleep in a puddle Typically she never wet the bed. (until last week, after two years of being dry at nights when we slept at Jessimae and Livvys house and she emptied her bladder into her sleeping bag)

I'd put a pull up on him. My HV said it can take up to age 8 for a child to be dry at night x
