Do you always go out with your LO's?
We've been in all day today so far, just pottering. Finlay's been playing quite nicely whilst I got on with a bit of packing. Anyway, he's now getting bored but I'm still not feeling 100% at all and now having done bits this morning I have completely run out of energy. I know we should probably at least go for a walk to get out in the fresh air and I'm hoping soon I'll have the energy to do that cos I'm feeling really guilty that we're not doing anything.
Just got me thinking, do you try to go out and do something with your LO's every day or do you have days where you're home all day? We've rarely ever stayed in all day, so think that's why I'm feeling a bit guilty, especially as I can see how bored Finlay is, being ill and having children to entertain is so hard

We usually go out each day- but if we don't we have a potter around the garden; do something with the chickens or a bit of gardening. Then at least she gets a bit of fresh air. At the moment she loves to help clean the car with the hose, so we perhaps do that once a week. (My car has never ever been this clean....)

At least once a week we have a slob out day where I'm cleaning ,batch cooking and we wouldn't leave the house, although saying that they would end up playing out front with their friends just before bedtime

We stay in quite often, especially at the minute with a new baby. By the time we are all up, dressed and have breakfast it can be 10am, then Philip needs fed again. Sometimes we manage to get out to the playground for an hour, then head home for lunch. After lunch Hannah has a 2 hour nap, and by the time she wakens its around 3:30-4ish, Philip wants fed again, and then its time to start getting ready for dinner!
I usually let them play outside in the garden while I'm making dinner so at least they get to run about in the fresh air if we haven't been out that morning. Matthew does get bored, especially as he has been used to being at playschool from 9-12 but he is getting better at playing by himself.
Don't feel guilty about it, it does them good to learn how to entertain themselves, I've had fun listening to Matthew making up stories and pretending things with a few blankets, boxes and cushions. He has quite an imagination I've discovered!
Hope you are feeling better soon.
Debs xx

We occasionally stay home all day but it's very rare. I love those days.

How I would love chickens Carla!! But Hubby just keeps saying no
Finlay does like to help me but only for a couple of mins and then he's bored again. He helped me tape up the boxes and pack a few bits then went off. I used to play by myself all the time and loved it but think I was a bit older perhaps at that stage, Finlay just wants constant attention, always wants an adult to play with him and so I've been trying to get him to play on his own a bit more, because I too think it's important for him to do that but he just doesn't like it. And that's so lovely for your girls acad, would love to live somewhere like that, not sure what neighbours we have where we're moving but I don't think there's any other children again and was really what I was looking for, never mind, can't have it all. Well we just made some Krispie cakes together and he's now asked to watch Ice Age, so by the time that's finished it'll be dinner and bedtime, so we made it through the boring day!! Lol, thanks for the replies, was feeling really guilty for not having done anything (and debbiemeep, you have a bit more of an excuse than I do having a new baby and 2 other children to contend with!! )
