Default snotty noses

Need to vent! Why do some parents think it's OK to leave their kids noses full of green snot?! I swear, in the area of London we live in, it's like some kind of badge of honor if your kids are messy and snotty. I actually think I'm looked down on as "common" because I keep my kids clean!!!! Probably my best friend here is the worst re: the noses (though she certainly doesn't look down on me for keeping my kids clean). Her kids are covered in green snot ALWAYS and I am always telling myself that she's a good friend and I have to get over the cringe when our kids play together I my kids end up touching the snot. Ewwww! I see no way to address this with her, at all, without causing major problems. So just venting. xx

That is gross! Could you give the child/ren the tissue and encourage them to do it themselves? x

Yes I was going to say the same or say it directly to the child like "Oh dear, you have a runny nose, shall we get you a tissue" and do it in front of your friends and after several times of doing that, she might get the hint!! Makes me want to boak, I don't do snot!

Disgusting
That's one thing I can't stand!! I always wonder how the parent can look at the child and think they look ok with snot dripping down their nose and quite often caked on their face
As the others have said, I'd perhaps offer the child a tissue, making sure you say very loudly that they have a runny nose, probably won't make any difference but hey it's worth a try!!

That is disgusting! That sort of thing makes me want to gag. I always keep tissues in my handbag now as Evan always has a cold. He always asks me if he needs a tissue now (either that or wipes it on his sleeve which is driving me mad at the mo )

I tend to say "oooh you've got a runny nose, shall we get a tissue?" to the LO or even say to the parents "They have a runny nose, have you got a tissue or do you want one?" Theres no excuse for it really, is there!
