Default how expensive are dvds

hi i was hopng to buy dd monsters inc on dvd and was shocked at the price. tbh i don't really buy dvds apart from a few recently that were about £5ish each for peppa pig, brum and pingu from amazon. hmv doing for £6 so not so bad but toy story is at least £12. it was even more expensive at asda which was reallu surprising.

what do most people do? - not buy them or is there somewhere i can get them cheaper or are they just that expensive? or do most people have loads of sky channels etc.?

I don't ever buy dvds, Isabella usually gets some for Christmas/Birthdays but these are all still in the wrapping

We have kids channels on sky, OH records stuff for her on the sky+ too .

£12 does seem a lot although I did pay around that for Toy Story off itunes for my phone and had well more than my money's worth as she will ask for it in the car on longer journeys.

Toy story is expensive at the mo but that will be because the new film is out in the summer. we tend to sky plus things. try tesco entertainment on line for cheap dvd's. really popular ones though will always b more expensive

I would have thought £12 was about normal for dvds - cheaper than that is usually reduced stuff. We only have whatever English channels we can get on satellite (free to view stuff only) and these days rarely get to the cinema so have a huge dvd collection. We order most of our stuff from amazon or play (both in the uk) as they are generally cheaper than buying over here and there is often a good range of bargain stuff there too.

Jess tends to get DVDs for birthdays and christmas too, although if we see one cheap in sainsburys or hmv then we buy it for example nanny mcphee was £3 in sainsburys so we got that and Jess has watched it about 100 times!!!!

We sky plus lots of stuff especially films from the disney channel and then put them onto disc.
