Whilst out on a food shopping trip to Asda, I stopped in the baby aisle and picked up a beaker that has a cow print all over. Was just reading the back, looking at it and Finlay was going mad saying me hold it, me hold it. SO I let him and he wouldn't let go of it. SO that was that, no more bottles cos he wanted it in that beaker. Maybe worth a shot? Seeing if there's one she likes the look of and gets to "choose" it? xx

I'm not much help but will say that george had his bottle morning and night (and sometimes in the day) til he was nearly 4!! We didnt try that hard to stop TBH, but decided when imo came home from the hospital it was time and he was ready and once he knew they were in the bin he was over it. I took him to the dentisits several times and he always said what good teeth george had and the bottles did no harm and just get rid when he was ready, whoch when the time came caused no problems at all.
imo on the other hand stopped taking bottles at 14 months by choice.
Perosnally i think wait til she is ready, it gives comfort and secrurity. As long as you follow the guidleines regarding brushing teeth and keeping to just milk than there shouldnt be any problems xxxx

we had this and I decided to bite the bullet and try and stop it.

made a big thing of how bottles are for babies and she has a new baby cousin and we watched him being fed his bottle. anyway said to her let's have milk out of a big girls cup for a big girl, just did it and it was fine. so she has milk in a beaker before bed now.

in the morning i just don't give it to her anymore and instead we go downstairs and make a smoothie together and she has that and I do enough for OH and I too (only way OH has any fruit at all).

My Little Man is off the bottle totally now (he's 2 yrs 2 months) - he self-weaned himself really! But my girl (now 4 1/2) was drinking out bottle until she was 3 1/2. Some kids just love bottle!

A nice princess cup with a straw or a cup with her name on it (if you could get one!) might appeal to her! Decide do you really want her off bottle!

For our older one, we used to put her bottle beside her bed! She'd wake in the middle of night, drink it and go back to sleep so she didn't wake us! Worked for us at the time but obviously she's not doing that any more!

Hope you well yourself? D x

I think the idea of a shopping trip for her to pick a new bottle is a lovely one. And do a reward chart for her triumphs using the new bottle ?

Finn is a bit like Imo, we do still give him milk in a bottle at night but he is more than happy to have it in his cow cup if he has milk during the day and prob would if we offered it at night too.

Sorry can't give any advice hon x

when i changed from a bottle (with teat) at bedtime, i used the bottle but just a different spout to start with (i.e Avent spout as opposed to a Teat), didn't go down well at first, but slowly worked, then gradually stopped giving milk at "bedtime" & gave it downstairs befofe bed, in his usual sippy cup thing. just small changes gradually over time worked for me. But i haven't started trying to get rid of the dummy yet though, he still loves it at night & when he's tired or unhappy.

Evan was having his 'bot bot' up until a couple of weeks ago. Occasionally he would have it in his beaker, but he really loved his bottle and was always asking for it. He has a cup with a fliplid and a straw built in now, which he uses for his milk. I kept telling him bottles are for babies and thats his big boy cup and to make sure I stuck to my guns, I chucked all the bottles and teats out. He did ask for a bottle for a few days after so Im glad i threw them all otherwise I think I would have gave in!

Isabella got to choose a new cup that was only for milk, she was gagging to use it so losing her bopbop was fine.
