katieharry is infamous around these parts
Default What have I let myself in for?!!

Me and OH have a group of 5 couples in Newcastle who are all really good friends. We were discussing inviting two of the couple to come and stay with us for a weekend, but the OH pointed out that its unfair to invite two couples an not the others, so we thought we have more room now so lets invite them all

I was thinking that its likely not all of them will want to come, but after inviting they all look like they are coming!! Originally I thought, oh it'll be fun, I then started panicing about not having enough bedding/towels/plates/ etc.

We have three double beds, an going to have to borrow three blow up beds as there is going to be 6 couples including us, and three children including Harry!

I think we are going to do a bbq for the main food on the Sat eve, but what shall I do for the breakfast for 12 people??

Its not going to be until August but I know men being men all the organising an preparing will be down to me an I worrying its going to be a nightmare. I've never has to host for so many people!

Any tips would be greatly received xx

crickey!!!
I supppose you could hope a few drop out by then!!
As for breakfast, it would be difficult to go to a big effort for so many people, perhaps get one of the ladies to butter bread while you have 4 rings on the go cooking the bacon, just have bacon butties and a choice of cereals, dont put too much stress on your self by thinking of things like cooked breakfast.
Either that or all go out for breakfast!! thinking little chef

I was gonna say the same as Acad TBH. No point in going full out when so many are coming. Just explain that wiht so many coming, you just don't have enough stuff to provide so could they bring their own towels etc. And also agree about the brekkie, again, I really wouldn't bother doing a fry up brekkie, way too much effort, it's enough of a stress just doing it for a few let alone that amount of people! So deffo just cereal, toast, croissants, that's it. I would prefere that kind of brekkie if it were me anyway Hope you have fun, try not to stress about it xxxxxx

When we stayed at Leahbird's house she did brioche, fruit and yoghurt for breakfast it was scrummy. If I have to cook for the masses I always do granola with berries/yoghurt and croissants.

You'll have a right laugh, I love big groups and it's always more fun and informal when you're crammed in like sardines
