Default Would the hospital tell you the sex of your baby ?

I wanted to do a poll thing but im not good with things like that.I have been chatting with a few friends recentley and I wanted to no really what everyone experience was when they had there scans.

This is really for those of you that wanted to no the sex of your baby, would the hospital tell you what they thought the sex was ( i no they cant say 100%)

In my experience I only had one scan at 20weeks cause I changed doctors and everything took a while then they couldnt fit me in for a scan for ages .When I had the scan and I asked to no the sex of my baby the lady wouldnt tell me and said she doesnt tell people when its there first child ! I just accepted it at the time and was really upset cause I wanted to no.This was over three years ago but It still does bother me and I was wondering if anyone else had the same experience ?? xx

I was actually told by accident at 28 weeks when we had said all along we didn't want to know the sex of our baby! I might add that this was in the USA not that it makes any difference but policies are different here. x

They asked if we wanted to know first time round, we didn't.

Second time the sonographer asked we said yes please and he spent a good while checking and then told us.

Both scans were at same hospital.

We didn't ask because we wanted it to be a surprise but I know a few different friends who asked and some were told and some weren't! All in the same hospital, there wasn't any consistency in who was told and who wasn't though

My hospital's policy is not to tell. This is because there is a high level of asian community where if they find out it's a girl they abort because of such high levels, they made the policy years back not to tell you

Think it depends on the hospital policies. I was told at my 12 week scan and confirmed again at 20 weeks scan. The hospital where hubby works also tell but obviously advise that it is not 100% but looks like....etc

But the hospital in my home town in somerset always used to have signs up asking people not to ask as they wouldn't be told, not sure if they do or not now x

Our local hospital didn't tell the sex in the past but changed its policy a couple of years ago.

The hospital I had Ethan & Elodie at were happy to tell.

xxxxxxxxxx
