Default I want to buy her so much stuff

Having said on previous threads about Christmas how you don't have to spend a fortune and had only spent about £20 on her last year (which is true) I have started thinking about what to get Izzy and now want to spend a fortune

I am considering:

Happy land (there is so much of it where do you start)
Cherry Lane Cottage (would get this or some Happy Land stuff not both)
Easil
Trike
Trendy little boots I have seen
Little table and chair set for the kitchen

Aghhhhhhhhhhhhh that is several £100s worth of stuff clearly can't get it all but really really want to.

Will someone reign me in. Perhaps I will let MIL do the stocking after all.....

Isabella had Cherry Lane cottage last year and it is gorgeous and has been played with lots. IMO Cherry Lanw is prettier but Happyland cottage is more practical as it is open at the back so lo can get it more easily. If I shut the Cherry lane cottage Isabella can't open it by herself.

For the little table and chairs I can't recommend Ikea ones enough and they are a great price.

MIL suggested buying Isabella an easel but no way am I letting Isabella loose with paint, felt tips, glue etc! She sits in her highchair for anything messy and I plan on keeping it that way

Trikes are fabby but might be more of a summer present?

I would defo say the table and chairs and one of the cherry lane/happyland sets would get the most use for your money based on what Isabella plays with most.

Couldn't you get it all but save half for her birthday - the trike for instance probably won't get much use over the winter but would be better for her birthday....

I wouldn't get the Boots as a xmas pressie myself as I don't really see Clothes as presents more a necessity.

We are so on the same wavelength! I would never buy clothes for Isabella as a present as all the ones I buy are completely necessary

Good thoughts girls!!!

Her bday is March so could do the Trike then as will be coming up to Spring when weather is nicer.

I know what you mean IM about the paints and stuff, Izzy had her little friend over for tea yesterday and while his mum and I were chatting they had got hold of the chalk and drawn all over our kitchen floor luckily it is slate so wiped clean easily but could have been messy if it was crayons and the wall.

So think on that basis maybe I will go with Happy Land and table and chairs.

Trike for bday.

Maybe suggest MIL gets easil for her house (hee hee hee)

And as you say footwear is a necessity!!!

Anna, my Mum gave Isabella a colouring book and wax crayons at her house while she was tidying up and Isabella scribbled all over Mum's white duvet cover!

She is a little monkey!

Sounds like you have it sorted now. I agree with the Trike for her b'day. We got Oliver a trike at the beginning of last summer but have hardly used it since the summer - he just likes to push it around the house now!!!

I also concur on the no clothes as presents for them! I love shopping for clothes / shoes for him but don't count any of them as pressies

We too are getting Oliver a table and chairs for christmas and also one of those little Crayola mini easels that they can use just their fingers to draw on one side so no chance of messiness all over the place. Getting him Happyland too like you i don't know where to start with it!!!

I am actually going shopping for him this afternoon with my friend. Soooo looking forward to it! I'll report back!

Just ordered the ready to play village set from the Happy Land as looked like you got quite a bit with it a house, a couple of shops some people and stuff.

Hope she likes it.

Think I am going to suggest to my mum and dad that they get her the farm!

Just seen really nice table and chair set on ELC site as well.

Poor Ava is getting pj's as a xmas pressie. My friend was shocked today when I took her out with socks on her hands because she doesn't have mittens

Anna.... they're only so little once, indulge her with lots of lovely pressie's if you feel like it they are from Santa anyway

My LO getting pj's as presents and based on last year will get lots of clothes from others too. personally i dont see whats wrong with giving clothes as presents - I think (again its a personal thing) that its important to teach from a young age its not always about toys. He is getting toys too of course!!

As someone who watches where the pennies go, i always prefer aunties etc give clothes - sometimes toys get played with once or twice, but he gets plenty wear out of his clothes and it means we dont need to buy them and therefore save a little money.

He is also getting a duvet and cover in the hope that as he will think that santa thinks he is a big boy, he will stop using his grobag!!
