Having said on previous threads about Christmas how you don't have to spend a fortune and had only spent about £20 on her last year (which is true) I have started thinking about what to get Izzy and now want to spend a fortune
I am considering: Happy land (there is so much of it where do you start) Cherry Lane Cottage (would get this or some Happy Land stuff not both) Easil Trike Trendy little boots I have seen Little table and chair set for the kitchen Aghhhhhhhhhhhhh that is several £100s worth of stuff clearly can't get it all but really really want to. Will someone reign me in. Perhaps I will let MIL do the stocking after all..... |

Couldn't you get it all but save half for her birthday - the trike for instance probably won't get much use over the winter but would be better for her birthday....
I wouldn't get the Boots as a xmas pressie myself as I don't really see Clothes as presents more a necessity. |

Good thoughts girls!!!
Her bday is March so could do the Trike then as will be coming up to Spring when weather is nicer. I know what you mean IM about the paints and stuff, Izzy had her little friend over for tea yesterday and while his mum and I were chatting they had got hold of the chalk and drawn all over our kitchen floor luckily it is slate so wiped clean easily but could have been messy if it was crayons and the wall. So think on that basis maybe I will go with Happy Land and table and chairs. Trike for bday. Maybe suggest MIL gets easil for her house (hee hee hee) And as you say footwear is a necessity!!! |

Sounds like you have it sorted now. I agree with the Trike for her b'day. We got Oliver a trike at the beginning of last summer but have hardly used it since the summer - he just likes to push it around the house now!!!
I also concur on the no clothes as presents for them! I love shopping for clothes / shoes for him but don't count any of them as pressies ![]() We too are getting Oliver a table and chairs for christmas and also one of those little Crayola mini easels that they can use just their fingers to draw on one side so no chance of messiness all over the place. Getting him Happyland too like you i don't know where to start with it!!!I am actually going shopping for him this afternoon with my friend. Soooo looking forward to it! I'll report back! |

Just ordered the ready to play village set from the Happy Land as looked like you got quite a bit with it a house, a couple of shops some people and stuff.
Hope she likes it. Think I am going to suggest to my mum and dad that they get her the farm! Just seen really nice table and chair set on ELC site as well. |

My LO getting pj's as presents and based on last year will get lots of clothes from others too. personally i dont see whats wrong with giving clothes as presents - I think (again its a personal thing) that its important to teach from a young age its not always about toys. He is getting toys too of course!!
As someone who watches where the pennies go, i always prefer aunties etc give clothes - sometimes toys get played with once or twice, but he gets plenty wear out of his clothes and it means we dont need to buy them and therefore save a little money. He is also getting a duvet and cover in the hope that as he will think that santa thinks he is a big boy, he will stop using his grobag!! |
