It is possible I guess.

Is the rash on a place where the peanut butter would have touched her face (like around mouth only)? If it is not (and it's on a part of her face that did not come into contact with peanut butter) and it's not on the rest of her body, then I would say it's probably not the peanut butter.

no there's a bit on her back and on her belly under her belly button too, wondering if she's just maybe a bit low and her eczema is flaring up

Has she ever had peanut butter before? I think that usually a LO needs to have something three times before an allergy can develop but I'm not completely sure this is right in every case. Is Jules around tonight? She knows a lot about allergies. I've been very wary about giving Logie nut products, especially peanut butter as my sister has a very bad allergy to them (another exposure to a peanut product could be fatal). I haven't yet given any to Logie although his doctor said it's better to give them while they're young. I keep putting it off, thinking it's not a good time to have to rush to the hospital! Don't know if my sister had a rash, but her throat swelled up meaning she had trouble breathing. Maybe you could hold off giving her any more til the rash clears up and then maybe try it again next week when you haven't given her anything else new to eat? You would know then that it had to be the peanut butter? xo

Imo I would not say it is an allergic reaction to the peanut butter, more than likely a rash or as you say an excema flare up. Incidentally there is a lot of research done on the link between some foods and excema that may be of some interest to you. How is her rash today?

Just to add though an allergic reaction to something will not show up until the 2nd or 3rd time of having it, so there is the possibility it is a reaction still.

Aww bless her. does the excema rash normally affect her face? I would lay off the peanut butter for now as nuts in a small percentage of cases of children with excema be a food that can cause allergic reactions.

If it looks like an allergic reaction you could always use some antihystamine as this will reduce the irritation, but wise to check with gp beforehand
