Default cooking with soy milk formula?

Hi...
My 7 and a half months old baby is allergic to cow's milk so I'd like to know if we can cook with soy milk formula. Does anyone know?

I didn't want to leave this unanswered but I don't know....

I have a 2yr old currently on a dairy-free diet but he wasn't diagnosed until 1yr 6 months so we weren't on formula.

I would email the manufacturers ( is it C&G?) or ask your HV.

I do know that rice milk is to be avoided when little due to possible arsenic worries, soya milk is to be avoided for boys because for fertility issues. We use almond milk and there is an oat milk. Both smell vile and are expensive. it's a mine-field out there. We have been perscribed a non-dairy milk by the consultant called Neocate. But it is very expensive so I wonder if Dr's try to avoid giving it cos' it takes a big chunk of their budgets...

How's your baby doing and how are you finding it not using dairy products?

Post cooking with soya milk

hi ochie78,

my 6 month old also has an allergy to cows milk and is now taking SMA WYSOY after not taking the first hyper allergy milk. I use soya milk in preparing food all the time as my baby would not drink as much milk as a normal bottle fed baby... I maybe add either a few teaspoons or 1oz depending on what I make hope this helps!

Default thanks

Hi,

Thanks a lot for all your response!
My baby is actually breastfed so I only need other milk for cooking.
My baby's allergy has not been diagnosed by a doctor but she had like red bumps around her mouth and neck when she ate rice cereal with added milk. So I would rather avoid dairy until she get tested.

Sam10, I emailed the manufacturer and they said we can cook with soy milk formula in place of cow's milk

Blitzbeats635, I can not find buffalo milk here (I am currently living in Asia)...
