Default Dairy free salmon recipe

Hi,

My daughter is 6 months old and has a cows milk protein allergy and I've been told not to give her any dairy products. I'd like to cook her salmon but all of the recipes I can find have cheese in. Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Thanks

Kim

What about cooking salmon in some stock and veggies?

Is your lo eating purees or will she eat more substantial foods like a fishcake? You could make mini fishcakes using salmon, floury potatoes, egg and parsley.

I've made something like the AK tasty salmon puree without cheese and milk and it worked out just fine for me. I always have as stock of pureed veggie cubes in the freezer so I just cooked up the salmon in some orange juice as in the recipe and added in some of my carrot and sweet potato puree. Went down a treat.

isabellasmum - Thanks, I'm new to all this forum stuff she's eating very slightly lumpy food but I'm not sure she'll eat a fishcake just yet but I'll definitely try that when she's slightly older.

Thank you both for your replies. I'll definitely give them a try.

I know I'm probably being a bit thick now but I don't eat fish so I don't have a clue how to cook it, do either of you have any recipes for fresh Tuna as all the AK ones seem to be done with tinned tuna.

Thanks

Fresh tuna I would normally grill/griddle or cook in a foil parcel with some butter or oil and herbs. For lo you could poach it or steam it and add some potato and veggies to make a puree or mush.

That's brilliant, thank you ever so much for your help. I'm quite a fussy eater so I'm trying to make sure my daughter tries lots of new things so hopefully she won't be the same but it can be quite difficult when you don't normally cook fish and stuff for yourself!

I was the same but found as I cooked more stuff for her I tried more myself Am very brave thesedays and will try most things.

Have a look in the recipe section what forum members have posted, lots do contain cows milk/byproducts but some might be suitable.

I'd love to try fish but for some reason I just can't. Maybe as I start cooking more stuff for her I might become more adventurous myself, here's hoping! Thanks again, I'm going to take a look at the recipe section now

I have never been overkeen on fish (stuck to tinned tuna/salmon) but the more I eat it the more I enjoy it.

My OH wouldn't eat fish, I tried allsorts of recipes but he loves Ellie H salmon pie and the same recipe (in recipe section) has converted my sister in law who has never eaten fish in her life. It's delicious
