Sometimes it just helps.
[quote=fussymum;192798]CBC seems to think they do though - at least according to her books. She is quick to sneer at BFC's and Peer Supporters and the irony is that the role of a BFC is to give mothers evidence based info to enable them to make an informed decision about what is right for their baby. FWIW, I wasn't asking anyone to justify themselves, I am genuinely interested. I'm not sure if she had a perceived problem or whether the baby was behaving normally and mum just needed a bit of support rather than a solution. I actually suspect (though could be and hope I am wrong) that this problem is not solved yet as she is still using formula top-ups. The expressing after a feed will help, but you can't beat a baby for upping supply.

I turned to CBC after trying to get my BFC to come and see me, as I was in pain feeding whilst cracked and bleeding and suffering from a C section. You might be very good with offering advice but when I needed nobody helped me. CBC DVD meant that I fed for six months and when I contacted my BFC for some other advice, she remembered me and said well done for perserveering, so I agree with CBC, sometimes BFC aren't always there.
I'm having my second child and will be much better prepared thanks to CBC. Also I wish you die hards would stop making women feel bad for using top ups, if you were a bit more supportive and inclusive then perhaps we would be able to continue breast feeding the best we can.
