In a cardboard box. Plastic/tupperware can suck moisture out of them and make them droop. I told my mum this but she still put all the flowers we made in a tub and they all sagged
Sponge cakes you can bake day before no probs, or better still bake week before, freeze them then take them out the morning of the party and ice them straight from freezer.
