I try avoid in most cases to give my daughter anything processed, as I do myself. I find I can't always do this with my partner, as it has been what he is used to eating his whole life.
I don't see the point of adding salt to my daughters and mine food, as she was fine eating the recipes with no salt before she was 12 months, so why add salt to her meals now. When I follow AK's recipes aimed at toddlers i miss the salt out.
I believe it is rubbish that they have to put in those levels of salt in the AK ready meals, as children would not eat them otherwise, as I believe this is only the case when people are only used to eating food that is full of salt, say in my partners case.
My daughter ( luckily for me) is the most unfussy eater ever, and eats everything I offer her, although sometimes it takes her a couple of tries. I saw the AK ready meals in tesco's and thought i would try them, on hand for when we are in a rush or have nothing in. My daughter turned her nose up to both of the ones i bought, she has never done that with any food before. I would not have bought them if I had understood the nutritional values and realised the amount of salt/sugar in them, I just went by AK's reputation.
I was really offended by her 'any educated Mother would know that' comment as well, she come across so snobby, and I found her very patronising.
But just goes to show, they are all in it for the money!
