Thanks Emily and Ladybug

Well, he had his ultrasound and it didn't show up anything unusual - just some gas. The paediatrician has said to use something called polysilane which contains dimeticone which is an anti-flatuence thing and something else call debridat which is an anti-spasmodic (I am in france and these are french brand names). I have used both before so doubt it will be much help.... oh well at least he hasn't got anything serious wrong.

It does suggest the latch-on theory might be right. He sort of open and closes his mouth like a fish and I try to get my boob in when it is more open. Can you fix a latch problem at this age?? I am very frustrated as I tried to get it right from the beginning and was constantly asking the midwives at the hospital to check it out and they said it was ok. I recently learnt however that in the early weeks you 'spill' milk into them and when they are a bit older they have to suck it out more and if the latch isn't right then that is when problems occur.

I know this sounds pathetic but I am almost too exhausted by it all to try and change it now, perhaps I should just persist with a bottle. At least I will then know how much he is getting etc I wish there was someone who knew what they were talking about that be here physically and help....

Anyway, thanks so much for your support. It really helps.
