Breastfeeding Hind Milk

How can I be sure my baby has got all the hind milk?

Clare Byam-Cook says

You can’t – and you don’t need to! It is a common misconception that the hind milk is the very last bit of milk in the breast and it is not true that a baby will only get the hind milk if he completely empties the breast.  When the baby first starts sucking he will get the foremilk, but within a matter of minutes the hind milk will start coming through and he will continue to get that until he comes off the breast.

Don’t forget that there are lots of available resources for breastfeeding information including National Childbirth Trust and the Department of Health.
