How can I be sure my baby has got all the hind milk?
Clare Byam-Cook saysYou can’t – and you don’t need to! It is a common misconception that the hind milk is the very last bit of milk in the breast and it is not true that a baby will only get the hind milk if he completely empties the breast. When the baby first starts sucking he will get the foremilk, but within a matter of minutes the hind milk will start coming through and he will continue to get that until he comes off the breast. |

Don’t forget that there are lots of available resources for breastfeeding information including National Childbirth Trust and the Department of Health.
