Baby Food Allergy

If your baby develops a food allergy, her body is reacting to a normally harmless substance, mistaking it for a dangerous one. The immune system then produces antibodies, which trigger the release of histamine. Up to 8% of children have food allergies and it is twice as likely if there is a family history of allergy.
Babies and young children are more at risk of food allergies than adults, especially in the early months when their immune system is immature. Never hesitate to call a doctor if you are worried. |
