The second stage of weaning is a time of growing independence and often babies who have been good eaters in the past become much more difficult to feed. Try to eat together and make mealtimes fun and sociable. Babies are great mimics and will be much more likely to enjoy eating if they see you tucking in as well. Your baby will be curious about food and may be willing to explore new tastes and textures particularly when the rest of the family are doing the same. Now you can be a little more adventurous with food you make for baby by developing tastes for garlic, spices & herbs - try this Chicken & Apricot Curry. Make food look attractive on the plate by using ramekins: Mini Cottage Pies and Mini Fish pies Your child is changing from a baby to a mini person and its no surprised that he’ll soon prefer to feed himself. They will happily chew on finger foods like pasta, raw & cooked vegetables and raw fruit. Try these nutritious finger foods perfect for little fingers - Salmon Footballs, Grilled Chicken Fingers and Fresh Fruit Ice Lollies - good for soothing saw gums. Use a mess mat (from the red weaning range) under the high chair to catch the food that falls on the floor! |
