Frozen vegetables are frozen within hours of being picked and often retain as many nutrients as fresh ones. Frozen vegetables like peas, sweetcorn and spinach are fine for making baby food and once the vegetables are cooked, they can be re-frozen.
Steamed vegetable like carrot sticks or small florets of cauliflower make good finger food.

EGGS
Eggs are an excellent source of protein and also contain iron and zinc. Do not serve raw or lightly cooked eggs to babies under one year as there is a risk of salmonella. The white and yolk should be cooked until solid. Hard-boiled eggs, omelettes or well-cooked scrambled eggs are fast to cook and nutritious.
VEGETABLES
Vegetables and fruits are important as they provide phytochemicals which help protect us against cancer and heart disease. Fruit and vegetables are also an important source of fibre. Your baby is now able to eat all vegetables but if the flavour of certain vegetables like spinach or broccoli is too strong for your baby you could try mixing them together with a cheese sauce or root vegetables like sweet potato, carrot or potato.
