Foods to avoid • Whole or chopped nuts, children under five may choke. • Shellfish. • Undercooked eggs, the white and yolk should be solid. • Too much sugar. Sugar-free or reduced sugar drinks can contain large amounts of artificial sweetener which is not recommended for young children. • Unpasteurised cheese including brie, camembert and blue cheese. • Salt. • Honey don't give this to babies under one year as occasionally honey can cause infant botulism. • Too many high fibre foods like bran cereals, lentils and dried fruits.
